Frequently Asked Questions

Pro (Pool Service Report Pro) is a one-time purchase of US$14.99 — not a subscription. There are no monthly or yearly fees.

Q. I bought Pro — can I use it on another device?

Yes. On any device signed in with the same Apple ID, open the Pro screen in the app and tap “Restore purchase”. There is no extra charge.

Q. What does the app calculate?

  • LSI (Langelier Saturation Index) — a standard index of whether pool water tends toward scaling (positive) or corrosion (negative), computed live from your pH, temperature, alkalinity, calcium hardness and stabilizer readings
  • Ideal-range indicators — each reading (Free Chlorine, pH, Total Alkalinity, Calcium Hardness, CYA, salt, temperature) is flagged against commonly used target ranges
  • Dosing suggestions — estimated chemical amounts to move readings toward range, based on your readings and the site’s pool volume

Q. Are the dosing suggestions safe to follow as-is?

Treat them as starting estimates, not instructions. They are computed with standard industry formulas and assume typical product concentrations — they don’t know the actual product in your hand or the pool’s condition. Every suggested amount is editable (or removable) before it goes on the report. Always follow the chemical product’s label directions, never mix chemicals, and re-test the water after dosing.

Q. Where is my data stored?

Everything you enter — customer sites, visits, readings, checklists, notes and photos — is stored on your device. Nothing is sent to the developer’s servers, and there is no account. Uninstalling the app removes its local data.

Q. Does it sync between my iPhone and iPad?

Yes, optionally. Turn on iCloud sync in Settings and the app keeps its data in sync between your devices through your own iCloud account. The data stays inside your iCloud — the developer has no access to it. You can turn sync off at any time.

Q. Can I back up my data?

Yes. In Settings, use backup export to write your sites, visits, photos and settings to a single file, and store or share it wherever you like. On a new device, use restore from backup to import it. Note that restoring replaces the data currently on the device. Your Pro unlock is tied to your Apple ID rather than the backup file — after restoring on a new device, tap “Restore purchase” on the Pro screen.

Q. Does it work offline?

Yes. The app is designed to work without a connection — at the pool, in the truck, anywhere. An internet connection is only needed for optional iCloud sync and for purchasing or restoring Pro.

Q. Is there an Android version?

Not yet — Pool Service Report is currently iOS only (iPhone and iPad). An Android version is under consideration.

Q. Billing and refunds

Purchases are processed by Apple. Refunds follow the App Store’s policy — request one at Apple’s report a problem page. The developer cannot process refunds individually.
