Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 17, 2026
Pool Service Report (the “App”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles.
1. Data stored on your device
Everything you enter or create in the App is stored in local storage on your device. It is never transmitted to our servers or to any external party. The developer does not collect any personal data and the App requires no account or sign-in.
- Customer sites (site name, pool volume, surface type, sanitizer, and any details you enter)
- Visit records (water-test readings, LSI results, dosing entries, services checklist, notes)
- Before/after photos you take or attach (stored in the App’s local storage — not added to your device’s photo library unless you save them there yourself)
- App settings
- Pro purchase status
This data is removed from the device when you uninstall the App.
The App’s backup feature can export the data above into a single file. Where that file goes — on-device storage, iCloud Drive, another cloud service — is entirely your choice, and the developer never receives its contents.
2. Optional iCloud sync
The App can optionally sync its data between your devices (e.g. iPhone and iPad) using your own iCloud account. When you turn iCloud sync on, the data listed in Section 1 is stored in iCloud storage tied to your Apple ID and handled by Apple — it never passes through the developer’s servers, and the developer has no access to it. iCloud sync is off unless you enable it, and you can turn it off at any time in the App’s Settings. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.
3. Device features and permissions
To attach before/after photos to a visit, the App asks for access to the camera (to take photos) and the photo library (to pick existing photos) — only when you use those features, and only with your permission. Photos are used solely for your visit records and reports as described in Section 1. The App does not use location, contacts, or any other special device permission.
4. Anonymous usage analytics and crash diagnostics
For quality improvement and bug fixing purposes, the App sends the following anonymous information to Google’s Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. None of the content you enter in the App — customer information, readings, dosing entries, notes, photos, settings — is included in this data.
- Screen transitions and counts of key feature usage (e.g. recording a visit, exporting a PDF, turning sync on or off, creating or restoring a backup)
- Anonymous environment information such as device model, OS version, app version, and region
- When the App crashes, the crash stack trace and a short trail of preceding actions (Crashlytics)
- App instance identifier — an anonymous ID generated per device. The advertising identifier (IDFA) is not collected.
This data is never collected or used in a personally identifiable way. If you prefer not to share it, open the App’s Settings screen and turn off “Allow anonymous usage stats” at any time.
5. No sharing with third parties
The App never provides the content you store on your device to any third party. Service report PDFs leave the App only when you export or share them yourself.
6. In-app purchase (Pro)
The Pro upgrade is processed through Apple’s App Store In-App Purchase system. Your payment information is managed by Apple, and no personal details (name, card number, etc.) are ever shared with the developer. The App only receives confirmation that the purchase completed and stores a single “Pro is active” flag on your device.
7. Children’s privacy
The App is a utility for pool-service work and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
