Privacy Policy

Unkink (the “App”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles.
1. Information we collect
The App does NOT collect any personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, phone number, or location.
Your in-app activity (care history, wellness check-ins, etc.) is stored only on your device. It is not transmitted to our servers.
For quality improvement purposes, we do collect anonymous usage statistics through Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, as described below.
2. Data stored on your device
The following data is stored only in local storage on your device. It is never transmitted externally.
- Selected concerns (neck stiffness, shoulder tension, rounded back, forward shoulders, eye-related neck strain)
- Care session history (date/time, routine, duration, before/after wellness scores)
- Daily wellness check-ins (date, 1–5 score, notes)
- Notification settings (on/off, time)
- Premium subscription status
This data is removed from your device when you uninstall the App.
3. Device features used
The App uses the following device features:
Notifications
Used to send daily reminder notifications at the time you set. The content is generated locally on your device and is not transmitted externally.
The notification permission is requested only when you enable “Receive daily reminders” in Settings. If you decline, all features other than reminders remain available.
Camera, photo library, microphone, location
Not used. The App does not request these permissions.
4. Anonymous usage statistics (Firebase Analytics / Crashlytics)
To improve quality, the App sends the following anonymous events through Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, both provided by Google. None of this data identifies you personally.
Examples of anonymous events sent
- App launch and screen transitions
- Care routine started / completed (routine ID, category, duration)
- Onboarding completion
- Paywall view / purchase action (success / failure)
- Crash reports (stack trace, device model, OS version)
Information NOT sent
- Personal information such as name, email, contact details
- Wellness check-in scores or note content
- Before/after wellness scores from care sessions
- Location or advertising identifiers (IDFA, etc.)
This statistical data is managed by Google according to Firebase’s standard retention policy. For details, see Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
5. Third-party data sharing
We do not sell or rent your data to any third party.
The following third-party communications occur as part of normal App operation:
- In-app purchases: Premium subscription purchases and restorations are processed through Apple (App Store). Apple manages payment information; the App does not store your Apple account credentials or credit card details.
- Firebase Analytics / Crashlytics: As described above, anonymous usage statistics are sent to Google.
- Legal compliance: When required by law (e.g. court orders).
6. Children’s privacy
The App is rated for all ages, but we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.
7. Data security
Protection of data on your device depends on your device’s security features (screen lock, biometric authentication, etc.). We recommend enabling your device’s lock features to guard against loss or theft.
8. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as the App evolves or as laws change. Significant changes will be announced on this page. The latest version is always published here.
